Gainsborough Galleries, established in 1923, is Calgary's longest-established art gallery. It is also one of the cities most vibrant and exciting galleries, featuring an incredible range of paintings and sculpture. Gainsborough Galleries is located at 441 - 5th Avenue SW in downtown Calgary. The location is bright and colourful, and at 3,000 square feet in size, the gallery always features an impressive and ever-changing selection of fine artwork.

Proudly Representing over 45 Artists...

The artists represented by Gainsborough Galleries are all outstanding in their fields, and come from across the continent - from Vancouver Island to Quebec and Ontario, and from Nunavut to Arizona. Gainsborough prominently displays the work of many Alberta artists, including 11 artists from the local Calgary area. Our artists range from up-and-coming younger artists to long-established Masters of their profession, and we are sure we have just the right painting for your home or office. Subjects include Mountain and Prairie Landscapes, Western, Still-life, Floral, Romantic impressionist, Portrait, Seascape, Figurative, scenes of China, Quebec, the Desert, the Arctic, Portugal, England, the North - the list is almost endless!

Calgary's Largest Bronze & Sculpture Collection...

Gainsborough Galleries represents bronze sculpture by the finest artists. Their variety of style and subject is vast and includes Western, Wildlife, Figurative sculptures, and more. The gallery also displays a wide selection of soapstone carvings from Inuit and British Columbia artists. Additionally we are proud to represent the stunning work of jade and gemstone sculptor Lyle Sopel, named by National Geographic magazine as "among the best of the world's contemporary jade sculptors."
