A native Calgarian, Michelle Grant’s art is intricately connected to the spirit, economy, and beauty of the horse in Alberta, yet her excellence in art has been internationally recognized. This passion for art and horses shows through her artistic works in a variety of mediums, which has resulted in many awards for her pencil drawings, watercolors, and oils.
Her work has been published in many books, magazines and calendars. It is not limited to work on canvas or paper, but is also seen on 5 different coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, including the 2005 Alberta Centennial 25 cent coin. One of her paintings was selected for inclusion in 2009 Ducks Unlimited Canada National Art Portfolio. Most recently two of Michelle’s oil paintings were juried into the prestigious 2010 C.M. Russell Art Auction in Great Falls, Montana
Michelle has been featured on the award winning “Cowboy Country Television”, “Help TV” on Access Television and her paintings used as props on the CBC’s “Heartland” television series. Michelle and her work were also featured on Access television’s Alberta Primetime’s program “Hidden Gems” that aired in 2009.
