"I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1944. We moved to B.C. at the age of 6.
I have always been drawn to the outdoors and, from a young age, could always be found drawing, coloring, and painting. I have dabbled in many forms of art over the years - sketching, painting and pottery – but nothing has captivated me like stone sculpting.
I started sculpting with the encouragement of a dear friend in 1999 and, in a very short time, found myself completely engulfed in this new found form. The challenge that sculpting offers comes from its three dimensional aspect: it offers a medium to depict animals in their truly realistic form. My love of wildlife and my outdoor experiences have been central to me and they have found expression in my work as an artist.
I have received numerous awards for my sculptures. My art can be found in private collections in Australia, South Africa, U.S.A., and throughout Canada. I am indebted to my departed Mother and Father for their encouragement and, of course, my wife Donna for her patience and support while I am off on field trips to study my subjects."
